Description of the tomato variety Antonovka honey and its characteristics

Tomato Antonovka Honey is unusual in its qualities, so it should be recommended to vegetable growers who grow original plants in their beds.

This tomato was bred by Russian breeders and is one of the few varieties with an unusual color of ripe tomatoes - green. The tomato was recently bred, so most summer residents have not yet planted a similar vegetable crop on their plots. And there is not a lot of information about this tomato yet.

Description and main characteristics of the variety

The description of the variety should begin with the timing of the ripening of the fruit. From the moment the first seedlings appear until the fruits ripen, it takes about 4 months, so Antonovka Medovaya is classified as a mid-season tomato.

Bushes of determinant type, strong enough. Shoots are erect, medium-leafy, in height they can reach 1.0-1.25 m when grown in garden beds. Indoors, the stems can reach 1.4-1.5 m. The bushes are medium spreading, but they must be tied to trellises or supports. It also requires the formation of shoots and the regular removal of stepchildren. Antonovka belongs to the universal tomatoes.

variety characteristics

So far, summer residents are not familiar with such tomatoes, but nevertheless, in some places these unusual green fruits are already being grown. The characteristics of ripe fruits should also be attributed to the advantages of the variety: round, slightly flattened tomatoes weigh about 200-220 g. The skin is quite dense, smooth, pale green with streaks of yellow color. On the cut, ripe fruits show a fleshy bright pink flesh.

The characteristic of the variety would be incomplete without mentioning the taste of green tomatoes. In addition to the original look, the rich taste of the fruit is striking - sweet, with a slight aftertaste of honey, with a pronounced honey aroma.

taste qualities

The original taste of ripe tomatoes gives salads and other snacks an extraordinary flavor. Also, the fruits are used in canning.

It should also be noted the high commercial qualities of tomatoes of this variety. The crop perfectly tolerates transportation over fairly long distances, without losing its good presentation and original taste. The bushes are quite resistant to most diseases affecting plants from the Solanaceae family.

An extremely unfortunate variety! Stone-hard, tastes like raw potatoes. Today is November 7, the tomatoes turned yellow (they were ripening, removed on October 5). The seeds have sprouted inside! The taste remains the same - grass is grass. Wouldn't recommend!
